Thankful for creativity

In my History of Creativity class, I have come to really appreciate my mind and the creative things that it can do. Minds our amazing, they connect so many things seamlessly and I am so blessed to have one that works. For the take home portion of our test we needed to write a sonnet in Shakespearean style as if we were the King of Spain wooing Queen Elizabeth of England. Here is mine.
Priceless Strength
A free spirit running alone paused,
Gazed across the sea at a treasure.
The treasure gleamed and caused
The spirit to be filled with pleasure.
Rubies, emeralds, gold, do not compare—
It was a beauty of elegance and strength.
A spirit so lowly and caught up in prayer
Wished to tend the treasure at any length.
Could a treasure without price be,
A missing strength, to a life of solace?
A dream of joy grew like a tree,
The spirit knew that treasure fills a palace.
But full palace rooms don’t compete
With priceless treasure that makes one complete.
